Chain mulchers for tough conditions
Chain mulchers from Ilsbo work on all types of edge mowing and are intended for tough conditions and are well suited to keeping the following areas free of bushes and underbrush; ditch edges and road shoulders, areas around power lines, fields, pastures and other grassy areas, park areas, rest areas and other areas that you want to prevent from growing back.
Grass cutting with the Tokvam chain mulchers
The Tokvam chain mulcher is primarily developed for efficient shredding of brush, bushes, and lighter vegetation. At the same time, it is also suitable for rough cutting of long grass along road verges, ditches, and open areas—provided that the machine is correctly set up and operated.For grass cutting, the use of a D-link chain is recommended.
The links of this chain have angular edges, which makes grass cutting more effective compared to standard chains with round, smooth links.
For best results when cutting grass, the brush cutter should be operated at a lower RPM than during regular brush cutting. Lower RPM prevents the creation of air pressure that causes the grass to bend over. In addition to improved cutting performance, this reduces wear and minimizes stone throw. We recommend reducing the RPM by 30 to 50% for optimal grass cutting results.
With the correct chain and adjusted RPM, the Tokvam brush cutter is a versatile implement that performs well both in heavy clearing work and in the cutting of long grass for maintenance tasks.
